it turns out that almost everything we thought we knew about them is wrong.
they weren't hunched, grunting, knuckle-dragging ape-men at all.

Science progresses constantly as new discoveries opens up new possibilities for research.
Apparently the motivation to seek funding by scientists, for their research, has lead to an extremely large percentage of their published works being found to be fraudulent, misleading, biased, incomplete, inaccurate and even undependable. It has been said by some authorities, on the subject of research, that the most benefit that can be derived from these published works is to open the mind to fresh ideas and help expand vision.
Solomon Snyder, senior editor at the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, and a neuroscientist at Johns Hopkins Medical School in Baltimore, US, says most working scientists understand the limitations of published research.
“When I read the literature, I’m not reading it to find proof like a textbook. I’m reading to get ideas. So even if something is wrong with the paper, if they have the kernel of a novel idea, that’s something to think about,” he says.
Now, I am not arguing the value of scientific research. However, bias can lead a person to favour and accept a finding that supports an already accepted belief.
Now, on the subject of Neanderthals, if they were once thought to be a knuckle dragging, grunting, lower form of life and now, apparently they are thought to be a form of life much closer to modern man, how would it be accepted by the supporters of these beliefs if, in the future, papers started being published that showed, with equally persuasive empirical evidence that the Neanderthals were actually much higher advanced than modern man with higher intelligence and a more perfectly formed body. Would there be quick acceptance or would there be resistance? Is there a line that science cannot cross over, even for Cofty?

Then geneticists were able to recover some samples of DNA and it appeared that they never bred with humans. With improved techniques more of their genome has been decoded showing that we did in fact share some ancestry with them.
The Dahm triplets [ Nichole, Erica and Jaclyn ] born Dec 12, 1977.
DNA test taken when they were adults revealed the following:
Nichole – 18% Irish and British
Erica – 16% Irish and British
Nichole – 11% German and French
Jaclyn – 18% German and French
Erica – 22.3% German and French
Nichole - 11.4% Scandinavian
Jaclyn - 7.4 % Scandinavian
Erica - 7.4% Scandinavian
Interesting.
Even more interesting, no mention of any Neanderthal DNA. Must have made a mistake.

Then I bought a 1957 Massey Harris with front end loader. Not for farming. My wife wanted horses so I made the mistake of saying "Maybe one day you can have horses." That 'Maybe' turned into "you promised me". Well, after selling the house and renting acreage with horse paddocks, 1/2 mile track and barn, [ The beginning of the end of our marriage by the way. These do not come cheap.] I had the privilege of maintaining the paddocks, 1/2 mile track and barn. At least that justified my having a tractor, with her permission. I did enjoy the tractor. Never road any of her horses. Got kicked twice by them. Last kick just about took off my head. Great fun.

I had a 1949 Ford with a front end loader. My Dad told me a friend of his flipped one over backwards and killed himself on the same tractor. A week later I just about tipped mine over sideways with a full load in the bucket when it hit a low spot in the road. Great fun. I sold it to a hot dame wearing short, shorts and driving a Porsche. Much like the picture.

jp1692 -- Scientists try to find empirical data and objective evidence to help us understand how things really are. Peer review and repeatability are essential to a working hypothesis. Scientists welcome questions and must be willing to admit when they are wrong when the evidence indicates otherwise.
